The work the lawnmaintenance workers did for us was exceptional. I have many shrubs and bushes and they trimmed everything beautifully. And just as important, they cleaned up all the trimmings _ and there was a lot _ as well as some other yard waste. We so appreciate such good work. Thank you. Our lawn fertilization program is a round-based plan built for Johnson County’s cool-season lawns fescue and bluegrass. Across the season we apply the right fertilizer and weed control at the right time: spring pre-emergent and feeding, targeted broadleaf weed control through the growing season, and the most important feedings in fall, when cool-season grass does most of its root growth. Each visit is timed to what your lawn actually needs that month, not a generic calendar. It’s a full lawn fertilizer service and weed control program in one.
Most lawns in the Olathe area do best on a 6–7 round program spread across the season. Spreading feedings out rather than dumping everything at once keeps growth steady, strengthens the roots, and helps the turf crowd out weeds naturally. We’ll tailor the exact number to your grass type, soil, and lawn condition. Call (913) 829-4949 for a custom plan.
For the cool-season fescue and bluegrass lawns common in Johnson County, no heavy nitrogen in the heat of summer is not recommended (K-State Extension guidance). It can stress the grass and feed summer weeds and disease instead of helping. Our program eases off nitrogen in midsummer and focuses on protecting the lawn, then loads the key feedings into fall when the grass can actually use them. Warm-season lawns are handled differently.
Yes fertilization and weed control work together in the same program. A well-fed, dense lawn is your best long-term defense against weeds, and we pair that with targeted weed control timed to each weed’s life cycle: pre-emergent in spring to stop crabgrass before it starts, and broadleaf control through the season. The goal is turf so thick that weeds have nowhere to take hold.
Yes. We use professional-grade products applied at label rates, and we’ll tell you how long to stay off the lawn after each visit (usually until the product has dried or been watered in). If you have specific concerns about children, pets, or sensitive areas, let us know and we’ll plan around them.
